Q: What does DES do?

A: DES provides superior imaging solutions including large format digital printers, copiers, scanners, papers, inks and colour management software. Serving the photographic, fine art, graphic arts, proofing, publishing, and packaging markets, DES manufactures, imports and distributes a range of capital and consumable products to facilitate the reproduction and communication of design.

Q: What does DES stand for?

A: The name DES was established in 1987 to take over the business of Drafting Equipment & Supplies, which commenced in 1961. Having long since outgrown the singularity of that title, the change to DES was intended to send out a clear message that has progressed and moved into new diverse markets, whilst also maintaining their original AEC, CAD and GIS activities and skills.

Q: Can you help me work out exactly which product I need?

A: Yes, DES has the skill, experience and knowledge to consult clients and work out an appropriate solution tailored to their needs.

Q: What if I need more than one product? Can you help me work our a package of products?

A: Yes, DES offers fully integrated solutions that can be tailor-made to suit your requirements no matter how large or small your needs are. We can offer a wide range of unique solutions for a variety of market areas including proofing, colour management, photography, screen printing and document management.

Q: Do you offer training?

A: DES provides on site training at installation for all supplied hard/software, also additional training can be supplied on site or at our premises.

DES also offers Advanced Colour Management training through Chromaticity Australia which was established in July 2005 as a joint venture between US based Chromaticity Inc and DES Pty Ltd in response to growing demand for professional printing industry services. The regularly run courses are directed by colour expert David Crowther both locally, interstate and in New Zealand.

By Rail from Kingsford Airport
he airport is located at Mascot on the Airport & East Hills Line.

The closest train station to DES is located at Rhodes on the Northern Line, on Blaxland Road approximately 10 minutes walk from DES.

Traveling from the Sydney Kingsford Airport, you should go to Town Hall train station and change to the Northern Line, heading for Hornsby via Strathfield.

Disembark the train at Rhodes, cross over the footbridge and turn left out of the station walking down Blaxland Road towards Leeds St, turning right onto Leeds Street, DES is located on the left hand side.


By Rail from the City
The closest train station to DES is located at Rhodes on the Northern Line, on Blaxland Road approximately 10 minutes walk from DES.

From Central train station, Town Hall, Wynyard or North Sydney, take a train on the Northern Line heading for Hornsby via Strathfield, disembarking at Rhodes train station.

Q: Where do I park at Rhodes?

A: The street outside of DES Rhodes is unmetered parking but often gets very busy. There is a free car park at the end of Leeds Street located approximately 2 minutes walk beyond the DES office, on the right hand side.
