Environmental action is a priority here at DES and we take great pride in protecting valuable natural resources and sustaining our planet.

As an innovative and environmentally responsible organisation, we constantly improve our practices for logistics, facilities, workflow, distribution, energy consumption and recycling.

All our suppliers are assessed on their sustainability of resources and control of pollution, and most of our paper suppliers operate under ISO 14001 and/or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited environmental systems and practices.

"The pulps of our papers are sourced from sustainable forests, and are produced in mills maintaining the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification," commented Russell Cavenagh, Sales Director at DES: "as well as being of excellent quality, our papers are produced using environmentally responsible methods."

FSC standards ensure that the basic ecological functions of the forest eco system can be guaranteed in the long term, that no forests are cut down that are worth protecting, that a balance is sought between the sections of the population who are involved in the forest at any one time, and that fair and safe working conditions are maintained.
